Dead Like Me first aired on the Showtime cable network in June 2003. It ran for two seasons, filming at Bridge Studios, along with Stargate Atlantis and Stargate SG-1 (all produced by MGM). Its creator, Bryan Fuler, became a consulting producer (down from executive producer) after only a few episodes, and eventually became a consultant, in addition to writing for the show. The finale episode aired on Halloween in 2004.
Show Synopsis
Georgia "George" Lass gets killed by a toilet seat from a space station and ends up recruited as a Reaper, working out of Seattle. Her fellow reapers are Rube Sofer, Roxy Harvey, Mason, Betty Rhomer (later replaced by Daisy Adair). Together, they send souls on to their final destination and eat at Der Waffle House. George also works at Happy Time Temp Agency.
George's mother Joy, and her sister Reggie, have ongoing plotlines separate from, but occasionally intersecting with, the main plot.
