Catnip is a Kirk/Spock story by Telena Wells.

It was published in the print zine First Time #30.

Summary

After leaving Pike on Talos 4, Kirk has trouble forgiving Spock. "The tall Vulcan picked up his tray from the serving line and turned, relieved that no one seemed to notice his hesitation. His usual seat was unoccupied and available, and his usual dinner companions were already seated. Therein lay the reason for his indecision."

Reactions and Reviews

My favorite part of this story was showing Kirk and Spock on Vulcan after the events of "City on the Edge of Forever". Their tender embrace seemed just right under the circumstances.

I loved the part where Kirk walked in on Spock and his friend melding in his quarters.

This was a sweet story of growing love and desire. I always enjoy this author's work and this story was no exception. I wish she'd write more! [1]

The best part of the story is when Spock takes literally Kirk's request to sleep with him. An especially warm moment. [2]
