Carpe Brewski is a wildly popular Erik/Charles College AU by Gyzym. As of 2017, it is an abandoned WIP, with ten chapters, all posted in 2011. In November 2011 gyzym posted an address to the Brewski fandom in general, stating that due to outrageous and very rude comments, she was putting the fic on hiatus.[1]
In the story, Erik and Charles are the beleaguered and hard-partying heads of a fraternity, with many other personalities from the X-Men universe as secondary and tertiary characters.
The fic has already spawned fanart[2] (mostly on Tumblr, perhaps owing to the brief period in July 2011 when Livejournal was down as a result of another DDoS attack).
It has also spawned a fan community on livejournal, carpebrewski, dedicated to creating a space for Brewski fans to have fun and create fanworks while waiting for new chapters. Since the announcement of the hiatus, the community has since slowed to a crawl.

Carpe Brewski is definitely ATG fic (it's gyzym, no surprise) but man it was fun to read anyway.[3]

I'm a sucker for epically angsty UST, especially when they're long WIPs I watch come out. Carpe Brewski and Maya's Harry/Draco Drop Dead Gorgeous will always hold a special place in my heart for that reason.
This fic, I have got to say, is one of the most famous X-Men: First Class fics out there, possibly legendary for being a fandom within a fandom within a fandom. I love the rivalries between ABG and the ZLP and how determined Erik is to crush Zeta. It can be a bit OOC but definitely a must-read![5]
