Captains' Log is a gen Star Trek TOS anthology published in the UK.
From the first issue: "This is a zine dedicated to Trekkies everywhere, but to Kirk fans in particular."
Publication History
It was first published by the UK Star Trek Fan Club Beyond Antares, edited and available from Sylvia Billings. Sheila Hull was president of the club at the time.
By December 1977 (2 months later), Sue Toher was president of Beyond Antares and Sylvia had joined the STAG Committee. The zines were then advertised as being "'Midnight Publications" available from Sylvia Billings.
Captain's Log reached issue #15 in June 1981. Sylvia then took over as STAG President in October 1981 and called the new STAG zine Federation Outpost. Janet Quarton, Sheila Clark, and Valerie Piacentini took Log Entries over to Scotpress, renaming it Enterprise Log Entries.
Issue 1
Captain's Log 1 was published in 1977 and is 48 pages long. Illos by Mike Eason, Jeannie Rymill, and Beth Hallam.

Author's notes regarding "Telemetry":
When I was asked to produce a story for this 'zine I was presented with somewhat of a dilemma; how do I come up with a new angle on the character of Jim Kirk? There must be thousands of Trekkers all over the world writing stories about the noble captain and the rest of his crew, and it's getting increasingly difficult to find a new twist to put in the tail of an original short story. So, bearing that in mind, I've turned to what has saved this author's skin on more than one occasion -- technology. What is Jim Kirk, biochemical machine really like? I we could read the psysiological data pouring through him, would we see him in a new light......?
