But Then My Homework Was Never Quite Like This is a teacher/student AU J2 story with BDSM themes. The series is very popular and several writers have written companion pieces. It has been recorded as a podfic and is has inspired artwork. The story is also in the process of being translated into Russian by toffana.[1]
Author's Summary: Jared’s eighteen and in his senior year at a private school in San Francisco. He’s coasting pretty on his parents generous school donations—until his seventh period Physics teacher gets replaced with the maddening, infuriating, gorgeous Mr. Ackles. Jared’s gotten by all his life on his money and his charm, but Mr. Ackles seems to think he needs some... lessons in self-control. The journey their relationship eventually takes them on turns out to be far more than either of them ever bargained for. I know, I know: everyone and their brother (heh) recs this story, but it’s been much on my mind as of late. Bratty!student Jared is determined to seduce hot!teacher Jensen, but it quickly becomes clear who’s really got the power in this relationship. Excellent, loving, super-dirty D/S. I admit, this story didn’t do it for me the first time. Or the second. But I’ve come back to it again and again and now I’m a total schmoopy sucker whenever I hear George Michael’s “One More Time.” Features my favorite take on the Chad of all time. Seriously. He’s my favorite character in this ‘verse.[8]
