Bunnies From Hell is a vidding collective based in the Philadelphia area whose works have appeared at MediaWest*Con and other conventions. Members include Patricia D., Anne M., Karel S., Judy Chien (Thumper), and Jean Curley.

The collective showed their Media West vids on the same tape in years where multiple members attended, but they did not always collaborate extensively on individual vids. Many were the work of one or two members only. Some of their songtapes ended with clever "recap" credits which showed the vidder's name followed by 10-15 second snippets from each of the vids they had edited.

"Bunnies from Hell" made the first Wiseguy vid.

From a fan in 1992:

Judy Chien is about the only one still making videos, or at least she was the only one who showed any at MediaWest last year. At the 1992 MediaWest video room, she showed "Hotel California" for _The Prisoner_ (obvious, but it had never been done before) and "Wicked Game" (the one that goes "Oh, I never wanted to fall in love with you .. what a wicked thing to do, to make me fall in love with you..." ) for _Twin Peaks_ (very haunting and serious). Last year [1991], she won a prize for "The Addams Family Theme" for _Twin Peaks_. One of the other members did a beautiful QL one, to Simon and Garfunkel's "Bookends Theme" -- Al's interaction with Beth from "M.I.A." -- I only saw that one once, about three years ago, and it still sticks in my mind.

"The Bunnies from Hell" got their name from one of their first videos, Blake's 7 to Beatrix Potter's Tale of Peter Rabbit, with Travis as Mr. McGregor. [1]

From Textual Poachers (1992):

Many of the earliest videomakers were self-taught, experimenting with their home video recorders, discovering for themselves what effects they could achieve. Increasingly, fan artists are holding workshops at conventions teaching other fans the secrets of their craft, though some insist that the peculiarities of different VCRs require newcomers to develop their own techniques. As one member of Bunnies From Hell explained at a MediaWest workshop on videomaking, "You have to know yourself, you have to know your own reflexes and your own machines. If you have a machine that has a four second rollback, you have to adjust to it. You need to know how long the machine will stay on pause without shutting off. . . . My technique probably won't work for you and your equipment."
