Arrow is a fanwriter has been known to inhabit the personas Esteefee and Morgan Logan, she suffers from multiple writer personality disorder.

Fandoms

due South

Arrow has been a writer in the due South fandom since 2007 and is also well known for her Sentinel stories. She came to due South from Starsky & Hutch, a much older, well-established fandom, still shaky on her writer's feet and stumbling from writer's block, and was awed by the warm, welcoming nature of the fandom. Later, she was to learn she had narrowly missed The Ray Wars, but if there was any lingering animosity, she found no sign of it.

She started by writing Fraser/Vecchio because she hadn't yet seen Seasons 3-4, but after reading some RayK stories became more than a little enchanted with his frenetic style, and hastened to catch up.

After that, it was all over. As much as she continued to adore Ray Vecchio, the sweet man, she fell utterly in love with the Fraser/RayK pairing, and proceeded to write sixty-one works altogether in due South, only three of which were Fraser/Vecchio.

Sentinel

Unfortunately, eventually Arrow ran out of Speranza due South stories to read and, desperate, she turned to the Sentinel fiction sitting right there on Trickster. Well, that was all it took to make her run off and find poorly-manufactured DVDs to watch, and by May 2007, Arrow had written her first Sentinel short, a wicked little PWP called What You Do, and shortly thereafter she had crafted, in a blind, two week frenzy, a 32K wd AU called Somewhere to Be. Twenty-five stories later, Arrow still isn't quite done with these guys; the premise is just too damned fascinating.

OTW

Arrow was Co-Chair and Chair of the Systems committee for the Organization for Transformative Works from 2009-2013.

Writing style

In ds_profiles, spuffyduds says:

"Arrow's [due South] fic can be so, so incredibly funny. Or so incredibly angsty. And it is almost always incredibly sexy. Her character voices are spot-on; her Ray Kowalski is perfection, frenetic and emotional and hilarious. And her Fraser-voice, which I personally think is a lot more difficult to get right, is gorgeous: poetic and a bit detached, and wanting so much not to be detached." [1]

Blanket Statement

Re: share, reuse, remix: anyone may noncommercially ficbind, remix, transform, fiddle with any of my stories, original characters, vids, artwork, or universes without permission from me. However, do not change one of my works and publish/distribute as the original under my name, or claim it as your own unchanged (no plagiarism).

Please credit primary sources as I have. I also ask that you credit my works or link back where possible, but that is not a demand.

Re: podfic: feel free to noncommercially podfic any of my stories without permission, using whatever means or technology you like. A link back to the story text would be nice, and if you notify me I will host the file if necessary, or at the least provide a link from the story page.

Re: translations: anyone may noncommercially translate my stories to another language and post w/o my permission, as long as they make clear it's a translation that was done with blanket permission. If I'm sent a link to the translation I will add it to the English language version.

Re: re-archiving, you may noncommercially do so w/o permission, so long as your archiving software re-sources from the original on a regular basis and the archiving is not for monetary gain.

Re: reviews, my fic can be reviewed or recced on any platform of your choosing, with pull-quotes and thumbnails as fair use.

Concrit is welcome. Inform me of typos, please. And please do approach me as you feel comfortable, either by email (artemis [dot] arrow [ at ] yahoo [ dot ] com) or via comment on any of my stories if you feel I have written any examples of racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia or any other hurtful bigotry or phobia non-intentioned to the plot of the story. It is not my intent to do so but I am a product of the culture I inhabit.

Notable Works

due South

  • Freaks
  • Edge of Snow
  • The Question of Ghosts
  • Slimed (Fraser/Kowalski). In this established-relationship fic, RayK gets, well, slimed. And it's Fraser's fault, so Fraser has to give him a buzz-cut to get it out of his hair, and there's loving snark and Ray getting frantically turned on from the razor buzzing over his head and then there's HOT HOT SEX and the best mangling of a mild epithet EVER.
  • Steam (Fraser/Kowalski). Here's a first-time fic with light bondage. Fraser and RayK are tied up—facing each other, of course. In a steaming hot boiler room—of course. By the Mario Brothers. Of course. Fraser is wiggling all over the place trying to get them free and it is damaging Ray's calm.
  • Five Things Fraser Does Not Say to Ray Kowalski (Fraser/Kowalski). This five-times fic, with the theme of "tease" running through it, has such a perfect Fraser voice—studying Ray, absorbing every detail, obsessing and yearning and hoping.
