Annie Leonhart (アニ・レオンハート Ani Reonhāto) is a supporting character in the manga Attack on Titan and its related media. She is one of two main characters in the spin-off novel Attack on Titan: Lost Girls and its manga and anime adaptations.
Canon
Annie Leonhart (アニ・レオンハート Ani Reonhāto) is a graduate of the 104th Training Corps and former member of the Military Police Brigade. Her exceptional skills with swords and unarmed combat earned her the 4th rank, but she is also noted to be a lone wolf who struggles to work with others.
She possesses the ability to transform into a Titan known as the Female Titan. Trained from an early age by her father, she is selected as one of Marley's Warriors. In the year 845, she is sent on a mission to retrieve the Founding Titan, along with fellow Warriors Reiner Braun, Bertolt Hoover, and Marcel Galliard. As the Female Titan, she serves as a major antagonist prior to her defeat, at which point she crystallizes herself and is left in a comatose state. She was held underground in the custody of the Survey Corps for approximately four years before escaping during a battle between the Military, the Yeagerists, and the forces of Marley.[1]

Reception and Personality
Annie is a popular character among Attack on Titan fans. She was voted sixth in the official First Character Popularity Poll (16 September 2014),[2] fifteenth in the Second Character Popularity Poll (May 2015),[3] and eleventh in the Third Character Popularity Poll (January 2018).[4]
There are many fans who have rooted against Annie, particularly after she was revealed to be a traitor, the deadly Female Titan, and the one responsible for the violent deaths of well-liked characters such as Marco Bodt and Petra Ral. Some have gained sympathy for her after the story revealed her background and inner conflicts as a traumatized child soldier.

The fandom collectively refers to Annie Leonhart, Reiner Braun, and Bertolt Hoover as the Warrior Trio, generally in a platonic sense.
Shipping
Annie has fairly common pairings with each member of the Shiganshina Trio. She is also shipped with her comrade Bertolt, who has a crush on her.
