The name AlmaDens was mentioned in 1994 as the name for Forever Knight fans who affiliate themselves with Alma.

History

Once Forever Knight fans on the FORKNI-L mailing list had decided to form factions associated with the main characters of the series, there was some interest in creating affiliations for supporting and guest characters. One of the early episodes, "For I Have Sinned", had introduced Alma. a vampire working at the Raven (a Goth nightclub in the series).

In the opening post of the second Forever Knight War (July 1994), the possibility of fans forming an affiliation for Alma was broached in a scene in which the Raven's owner, Janette, has taken on the role of "administrative assistant" in charge of fan mail, particularly that coming from people deciding to declare an affiliation. She expresses her frustration to the protagonist, Nick Knight, while identifying the type of letter from each faction:

She reached down to pick up an envelope that had slipped from the desk—a pattern of pink hearts intertwined with a chain ran along one edge. Realizing it had caught Nicola's attention, she said, "Alma."

Alma subsequently played a strong supporting role in War Two in scenes associated with the Raven. At one point, the name "AlmaDens" was mentioned.

In the event, though, an actual faction never quite took form. When the first lists of factions emerged in 1996, the AlmaDens were not mentioned.

Faction Icon

In 2012, Greer Watson created an icon for the AlmaDens as part of her project to create a set of icons for all the Forever Knight factions. The design composits a screen capture of Alma and a large fuchsia lip-print with a background of shimmery chains, clipped from a screen capture of the Raven. The logo is decorated with hot pink hearts; and more hearts are strung on a chain, echoing the envelope described in the opening post of War Two.
