Fandom

Common Tropes in Fanworks

  • Pastfic: exploring how Abraham and Rosita met and began a romantic relationship
  • Love Triangle: almost always involving Sasha Williams
  • Break up: fix-it fics exploring how it could have been handled differently
  • Side Pairing: sometimes a featured secondary pairing in stories concentrating on other members of the group

Controversies

  • Sasha and Break up: Some fans disliked the inclusion of a love triangle between Abraham, Rosita and Sasha, feeling it added little to the narrative (although there had been a similar comic story line). Fans especially disapproved because it portrayed Abraham as having feelings for Sasha, but he still continued his relationship with Rosita for several weeks.[2] His break up with Rosita was also seen as cruel, with one fan saying "That was literally the rudest and most horrible break up method ever."[3][4]
