It takes something that could so easily be just dry theory and turns it into something concrete and full of physical and sensory detail. I suppose one could say that it's about the relationship between normal and queer, and between human and beast. But it's also about Duck, and about Wilby. Anyway, I listened to Malnpudl's podfic of this story before I read it, and whenever I read it now, I hear it in her voice, and I love the way that colors the story in my head.
